I've got some exciting news for you about a new series for the YouTube channel. I ran a poll a few weeks back about whether or not you would like to see the album series lessons come back, and your responses said to definitely bring it back! So today we are kicking off a new album series with "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
In this series I am going to walk you through a full breakdown of the entire album. There will be a new lesson video for every single song on the album from top to bottom!
Today is song #3 in the Abbey Road Series and it's how to play "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" on guitar by the Beatles!
If this is the first video you have seen in this series, I am posting a brand new song lesson each week on how to play every single song from the Beatles album Abbey Road!
This song uses that classic Beatles technique where you walk the bass up and down through notes of the scale. We'll primarily be using notes in the key of D for these bass lines in between the chords.
I'll break it down for you step-by-step in today's guitar lesson!

Learn to play one of the most iconic rock riffs of all-time in today's Beatles guitar lesson. This song starts off loosely based on a 12-bar blues form with the progression moving from the I to the IV chord but using a riff that outlines the chord shapes. This song is a great example of the influence of the blues on rock and roll. I'll take you through how to play the whole thing note-for-note with TABs on-screen as well!
